Corinthian Lodge of Mark Master Masons 1052 2017

26th October saw Corinthian Lodge of Mark Master Masons 1052 hold their Installation meeting at Liverpool Masonic Hall, Hope Street.  Representing the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master on this occasion was VWBro Eric Drinkwater ProvGSO, PGJO.
Installing Master WBro Stewart Hyde; WM WBro Chris Walls
Going into the chair was WBro Chris Walls ProvGIG.  This is Chris’s third time in the chair of Corinthian Mark Lodge.   Installation meetings are stressful enough at the best of times to organize for the Lodge Secretary and DC, but for Corinthian Mark Lodge this year’s meeting was more so.  First the DC had to be absent due to another important Masonic commitment and then both the IPM and WM became unavailable due to illness and so it fell onto the shoulders of the Lodge Secretary WBro Stewart Hyde to take charge.

With WBro Hyde acting as Worshipful Master the Lodge was opened and the acting WM welcomed VWBro Eric Drinkwater.  The acting DC WBro Steve Walls PAGDC Prov AGDC carried out the Salutations.  Once these were complete the installation ceremony began. The DC WBro Steve Walls, (Dad) presented WBro Chris Walls, (Son) to the WM for the ceremony of installation.  WBro Hyde then performed a very fine installation ceremony.  He also presented the working tools and delivered the address to the New Master, at same high level.  The Keystone address was given by WBro Jimmy Kontzle PProvGSW. With the address to the two new wardens delivered by WBro Bob Baird.   It was down to WBro Steve Walls for the address to the Overseers.  VWBro Eric Drinkwater did the Brethren’s address. At the end of the ceremony the WM presented a cheque for the Charities to the VWBro Eric Drinkwater.     In the risings there were two Grand Lodge Certificates to present to another father and son pair Christopher Brufell, (Son) and John Brufell, (Dad) this was carried out by VWBro Eric Drinkwater.

Corinthian Lodge Members

After the meeting a rather nice dinner was served and a lot of fun was had around the festive board.  VWBro Eric Drinkwater in his response to the toast to Grand Lodge congratulated both the new master and the installing master for the hard work he had put in.  VWBro Drinkwater also encouraged those members of Mark who are not yet members of the Royale Ark Mariners to join this degree.   The WM WBro Chris Walls expressed his thanks to all that took part and asked members to be on the lookout for new members so that he could have a busy year. However the WM saved his highest praise for WBro Stewart Hyde for the excellent ceremony he had performed in the lodge under difficult circumstances and at such short notice.  This praise was echoed by all who had attended the meeting.

We wish Corinthian Lodge of Mark Master Masons 1052 and the New Master a happy and enjoyable year.
